United to win: 15 ambulances from the Netherlands arrive at Ukraine's State Border Service
The Netherlands handed over three modular Role 2 field hospitals and six medical evacuation vehicles to the Ukrainian army. With the support of the Netherlands government, the Dutch manufacturing company Hospitainer handed over property and medical equipment to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
This is reported by Rubryka, referring to the State Border Service.
What is the problem?
The Netherlands is one of Ukraine's allies in the war against Russian aggression. From July 2023, the government of the Netherlands and the company Hospitainer, under the intergovernmental program of support to the Defense Forces of Ukraine in terms of strengthening medical and evacuation support through the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of the Netherlands with the assistance of the Embassy of the country transferred to the State Border Service of Ukraine:
- 18 Toyota Land Cruiser cars,
- 10 modular field hospitals Role 1, 5 modular field hospitals Role 2, 5 refrigerated vehicles,
- 1 dental module,
- almost 90 cubic meters of medical consumables.
The mobile hospital modules provided this time (Role 2 E (expanded) for 36 hospital beds) are more suitable for use in the colder weather and have expanded possibilities for the location of medical personnel and patients.
What is the solution?
Three modular Role 2 field hospitals (on nine trucks and six trailers) and 6 Toyota Land Cruiser medical evacuation vehicles were delivered to Ukraine.
"This special purpose medical equipment has expanded functions, namely, an increase in the number of beds. Also, an important technical component is the inclusion of new air conditioners in this equipment, which have an active ventilation method, which was not the case in previous models. In addition, a new and important element is a block for medical personnel. And also, the improved mobile hospital can be used as a stabilization point, which is extremely important in the provision of medical care to preserve the golden hour of a patient's life," says Dmytro Laitan, head of a polyclinic at one of the hospitals of the State Border Service.
How does it work?
"This time, we delivered three upgraded Role 2 modular field hospitals, including more beds and a tent for personnel. Also, this Role includes a water supply system, including showers. We have improved the gateways; that is, transitions between tents have become more reliable and durable. In addition, in these modules, the water supply system is adapted to the winter period," emphasized the representative of the Hospitainer company Bar-Jop Kruisen.
Kruisen added that the Government of the Netherlands continues to support Ukraine because the Dutch feel a kinship with the Ukrainian people.
"We are delighted to share our experience with you and, of course, we come to Ukraine for support, but we also learn a lot from you, and we hope that our cooperation will continue," said the Netherlands association representative.
