Fighters from the Special Operations Forces, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and reconnaissance units on the Kherson front, discovered and destroyed a Russian heavy flamethrower system.

The Special Operations Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that military special forces on the Kherson front, working with SBU fighters from Kharkiv and marines from reconnaissance, identified the Russian flamethrower system TOS-1A "Solntsepek" (Sunheat).

The Russian forces used this system to shell the positions of Ukrainian forces in the area of Krynky, located on the left bank of Kherson.

With the help of strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the "Solntsepek" was destroyed.

Background on Ukraine's Special Operations Forces

The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a distinct branch of the Ukrainian military, comprising special-purpose units and information-psychological special operations units.

Their unofficial anthem is the song "Came Quietly, Left Quietly," created during the Russo-Ukrainian War.

During the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine, soldiers carried out several crucial special operations, including:

  • Detonating the pontoon bridge of the occupiers in the Luhansk region.
  • Destroying "Grad" systems shelling Sievierodonetsk.
  • Identifyinh and destroyinh the Russian communication station in the Kharkiv region.

Background on "Solntsepek"

"Solntsepek" is a heavy flamethrower system (TOS), a Soviet Russian weapon designed to disable lightly armored and automotive vehicles, ignite and destroy buildings and structures with a voluminous explosion, and eliminate enemy personnel located in open terrain and fortifications. Destruction occurs through the impact of high temperatures, shrapnel, shockwaves, and excess pressure created by the massive use of unguided rocket projectiles in thermobaric and smoke-incendiary equipment.

As of Thursday morning, November 30, the Russian losses in the war against Ukraine amount to 1,180 occupiers, with the total number of losses in the Russian army since the beginning of the invasion standing at 328,760 troops.

As reported by the military command, during the past day, the Air Defense Forces carried out two strikes on areas with concentrations of personnel, weapons, and military equipment and another two strikes on the Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile forces units hit three command points, two ammunition depots, and two areas with concentrations of personnel, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy.

According to the General Staff, Ukrainian military forces repelled 24 enemy attacks on the Lymanske front and continued the offensive operation on the Melitopol front. Missile forces units hit two ammunition depots.

As previously reported, on the southern front, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine adjusted the fire of HIMARS on the Russian command and control vehicle.
