The US government has announced the introduction of a new package of sanctions against two dozen individuals and organizations in Iran and other countries that provided financial income to the Iranian regime and, in particular, its military machine.

This is stated in the press release of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department, Rubryka reports.

"Today, OFAC imposed sanctions on more than 20 individuals and entities for their involvement in financial schemes benefiting the Ministry of Defense and Logistics of the Iranian Armed Forces (MODAFL), the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces (AFGS), and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force (IRGC-QF)," the message reads.

It is clarified that thanks to these schemes, Iran received billions of profits by selling goods. These funds went to finance Iran's destabilization activities in the region, as well as support some regional proxy groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah.

The United States Treasury noted that the Iranian regime uses an intricate network of foreign shell companies and brokers to conduct illicit commercial activities and exploit the international financial system.

Among the foreign companies that provide revenue for the Iranian regime's military needs are companies from Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates, which provide billions of dollars in sales to customers in Europe and East Asia.

It is worth noting that the United States of America introduced new sanctions against suppliers of military technology to Russia. In particular, more than 30 individuals and almost 200 legal entities fell under the restrictions.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine "On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures" and sanctions against 147 Russian citizens and other states associated with the Russian Federation.
