Border guards raise Ukrainian flag at Budarky checkpoint on border with Russia
Border guards raised the Ukrainian flag at the Budarky checkpoint in the Kharkiv region.
The State Border Service of Ukraine reported this.
"Despite constant shelling, border guards of the Steel Border offensive brigade entered the territory of the Budarky checkpoint in the Kharkiv region and raised a blue and yellow flag on the tallest tower in the vicinity," the message reads.
This checkpoint is located directly on the state border and has not been working since the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation.
For reference:
It is worth noting that almost the entire territory of the Kharkiv region captured by the Russians on February 24 was freed from occupation as a result of that year's autumn counteroffensive of Ukraine's armed forces. However, a small part of the region's territory remains under the Russians' control.
In addition, the Russians are trying to recapture the city of Kupiansk, a critical railway junction. The occupiers are conducting constant assaults in the direction of the city; recently, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synehubov, predicted that the enemy's attacks might intensify.
Earlier, Rubryka reported that the border guards of the "Steel Border" unit raised the flag of Ukraine in the village of Topoli, which is located in the "gray zone" of the Kharkiv region.
