Bodies of three victims of fatal freezing found in Odesa amid harsh weather
The police in the southern city of Odesa found the bodies of three people who froze to death during a snowstorm.
The Odesa regional police revealed the tragic incident in a statement to Hromadske, Rubryka reports.
The local publication "Dumska" suggests that the deceased were likely homeless, but the police did not confirm this information in their comment to Hromadske.
Meanwhile, "Dumska," referring to sources in law enforcement agencies, reports that the bodies were found the day before. There were no signs of violent death.
"The body of a man with hypothermia was found on Shepnyi Lane. The body of a woman was discovered at the bus stop on Akademika Lazareva Street, and one man was found at the Railway Square," the publication reports.
According to the State Emergency Service in the Odesa region, eight people suffered from hypothermia, and five were injured due to falling trees.

As of 12:00 on November 27, due to the snowstorm:
- Traffic is blocked on 13 highways.
- 1844 settlements remain without electricity.
- 1083 vehicles have been towed.
- 148 fallen trees have been removed.
- Approximately 1518 freight vehicles are temporarily stranded.
- 1215 rescuers and 330 pieces of equipment are currently operating on-site.

As reported, due to the worsening weather conditions on November 27, all educational institutions in the Odesa and Kyiv regions will conduct classes remotely.
It was also reported that due to the deteriorating weather, traffic on the M-15 Odesa-Reni highway to Bucharest was closed for all types of transport. Restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles on the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway have also been introduced.
Due to the snowstorm, traffic on the Odesa-Kyiv highway has been later blocked for all types of transport. Due to snowfall from 7:30 am on November 27, Kyiv closed the entry to the city for trucks.
Strong winds in Kyiv damaged the Ukrainian flag near the "Motherland" monument. The Kyiv City State Administration noted that despite lowering the flag the day before due to worsening weather conditions, strong wind gusts damaged the lowered fabric. It will be removed to replace it with a new one after the weather improves.
