Ukraine will soon establish the "Army of Robots" and "Army of Electronic Warfare."

Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science, and Technology, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, announced new projects in the likes of the existing initiative "Army of Drones" during a live interview on ForbesTech-2023, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"We will soon launch the 'Army of Robots' and the 'Army of Electronic Warfare.' We will rely on our ideology — opening up the market, transparency, and maximum involvement of entrepreneurs who have already created various products and know how to scale them," said Fedorov.

The vice prime minister stressed that it was essential to offer innovative inventions and know how to scale them.

What do we know about the "Army of Drones" project?

In July 2022, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the State Special Communications, announced the first fundraising campaign for the "Army of Drones" on the UNITED24 platform.

The Army of Drones has been in existence for over a year. During this time, Ukraine has established mass production of drones, strike UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) units, and training for drone operators — these are the project's main achievements.

Moreover, within a year, the United 24 fundraising platform has raised $325 million. As part of the "Army of Drones" project, 10,000 UAV operators have already been trained in Ukraine.

Minister Mykhailo Fedorov pointed out that, compared to the previous year, drone production and the number of drones in Ukraine increased by more than 100 times.

Currently, Ukraine is experiencing a real boom in drone production. This is partly due to the government's success in simplifying procedures for developers and manufacturers of weaponry and military equipment.

Finally, the Ukrainian government also allocated ₴40 billion for investments in Ukrainian UAV manufacturers this year.
