The chief of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, shared a video of the damaged library on Facebook, Rubryka reports.
"Children's library. Six in the morning. A direct hit of a shell. Barbarians destroyed the Kherson library, which has been delighting the youngest visitors and their parents for years," said Prokudin.
According to him, no people were harmed by the shelling.
What we know about Russian shelling of Kherson and the region
Over the past day, the Russian forces carried out 119 shelling attacks, targeting 13 locations in Kherson. The Russians also aimed at areas in 28 towns in the region.
On November 23, a 42-year-old woman was injured in the suburbs of Kherson due to shelling. Artillery shelling on the town of Antonivka injured a 51-year-old woman. In Berislav, Russian forces attacked a cyclist with a drone. A 70-year-old man sustained injuries incompatible with life.
At noon the same day, the Russians heavily shelled Chornobaivka. Preliminary information suggests that the shelling involved cluster munitions. The shelling damaged sixty residential buildings and outbuildings. Two people died from the injuries sustained. Another five local residents were injured and received medical assistance.
A 50-year-old man was injured by the Russian shelling in the village of Lvove.
The Russians also shelled Kherson. A 39-year-old woman and two children were injured. A 15-year-old boy and his 11-year-old sister were taken to the hospital. The children are currently receiving all necessary medical assistance. Over the course of the day in the region, three people died, and 11 others were injured, including two children.
