Ukrainian forces repel 20 attacks near Avdiivka amid ongoing Russian attempts to encircle the city

The Ukrainian forces continue their assault operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, advancing in the Melitopol direction and maintaining defense in the Avdiivka area.

Russian army attacks
"Over the past day, there have been 64 combat clashes. In total, the enemy launched two missile strikes and 42 air strikes, carried out over 53 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launching systems on our troops' positions and residential areas," the Ukrainian General Staff statement said. "Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction."
During the night, Russian occupiers launched another strike on Ukraine using two guided Kh-59 missiles and three Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. All drones were downed by anti-aircraft defense.
Areas affected by aviation strikes: Kostobobriv (Chernihiv region), Oleksandria (Sumy region), Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kupiansk, Kurylivka, Ivanivka (Kharkiv region), Stelmakhivka, Serebrianske Forestry (Luhansk region), and Spirne, Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, Klyshivka, Toretsk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Urozhaine (Donetsk region).
Aerial strikes also targeted over 120 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson regions with artillery fire.
Front-line situation
In the areas under the protection of the North operational-strategic group: No significant changes in the operational situation in the Volyn and Polissia regions.
In the Siveria and Sloboda Ukraine areas, the Russian army maintains a military presence in border areas, actively conducts sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of Ukrainian troops to threatening directions, and increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Russia's Belgorod Oblast.
"Khortytsia" operational-strategic group (Kupiansk axis): With air support, the Russian forces conducted assault actions in the Synkivka area, where the Defense Forces repelled three attacks.
Lyman direction: The Russians did not conduct offensive (assault) actions.
Bakhmut direction: The Russian forces carried out unsuccessful assault actions near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 attacks. Ukrainian defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, causing losses to the enemy in personnel and equipment and consolidating their positions at the achieved lines.
Tavria operational-strategic group (Avdiivka direction): With air support, the Russian forces continue attempting to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers steadfastly held the defense, inflicting significant losses on the occupiers. Enemy offensive actions east of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful, with 20 attacks repelled by the Defense Forces.
Maryinka direction: Ukrainian soldiers repelled 14 enemy attacks in the Maryinka, Heorhiivka, and Novomykhailivka areas of the Donetsk region.
Shakhtarsk direction: The Russian assault actions southwest of Staromykhailivka in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful.
Zaporizhzhia direction: The Russians carried out assault actions west of Verbovo in the Zaporizhzhia region without success.
Ukrainian military success
Meanwhile, Ukrainian defense forces continued their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, causing losses to the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.
"Odesa" operational-strategic group (Kherson direction): Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, engage in counter-battery combat, and deliver fire strikes on enemy positions.
Over the past day, Ukrainian defense aviation carried out strikes in 11 areas where the Russian forces concentrated personnel, weaponry, and military equipment. Missile troops hit three areas of concentration: a command post, an ammunition depot, an anti-aircraft defense means, and four artillery systems.
