Stormy weather hampers Russian missile strikes from the Black Sea – Ukrainian Navy

Russia did not attack Ukraine on Monday night, November 20, due to a storm raging at the Black Sea, and it did not even deploy its air force. Although such weather gives Ukrainians a break from attacks, it creates difficulties for civilian navigation.

This opinion was expressed by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, Rubryka reports, citing his statement during a telethon

"The situation at sea was quite challenging; the storm was quite strong, and some ships were even torn from their anchors," Pletenchuk said. "There was no point in going out in such conditions; using long-range weapons was practically impossible. Even aviation did not operate, as far as I know. As a result, we had a relatively calm night."

According to him, the storm season is usually long, so this will allow Ukrainians to take a break from the strikes.

"But to say that this is purely good is also impossible because it affects civilian navigation. The only thing is that our enemy cannot act in such weather conditions. This allows everyone involved in performing duties to take a little break," Pletenchuk said.

He also expressed the opinion that Russia is unlikely to change its tactics at sea in winter, especially since Ukraine has an advantage — better preparedness for this year's frosts than the occupiers.

"Considering that our winters are mild, and most of the ports where they are located do not freeze, I cannot say that their behavior, algorithms, will change significantly," he noted.

In turn, Ukraine continues to prepare for winter.

"We have already gone through one winter like this, hoping that it will be easier this year and our enemy is less prepared than last time. We are ready better," Pletenchuk concluded.
