Ukrainian troops are preparing more firing units to counter Russian drone attacks – President's Office
Ukrainian forces are preparing to expand the number of firing units to combat Russian strike drones, says Oleksii Kuleba, deputy head of the President's Office.
Mobile firing units have already clearly proved their efficiency in strengthening the protection of energy and civilian infrastructure.
The official added that Ukraine "is really expecting a difficult winter," so to effectively counter the attacks, now increase capacity.
"Regional military administrations are working on completing units – not only transport, but also all the necessary devices," Kuleba emphasized.
Over the past few weeks, Russia has resumed massive shelling of Ukraine using attack drones.
On the night of November 18, the Russian invaders launched 38 Shahed-136/131 drones at Ukraine. Air defense forces shot down 29 of them.
On the night of November 19, the invaders again attacked Ukraine with drones. Ukrainian air defense shot down 15 Russian targets.
Mobile air defense fire groups are on alert near Kyiv and perform tasks in other directions. The commander of the Joint Ground Forces, Lieutenant General Serhii Nayev noted that the preparation and formation of new air defense fire groups continues for new attack waves.
