Russian forces are regrouping to attack eastern Kupiansk  with more efforts – AFU General Staff

Russian troops have intensified their activity on the Kupiansk front, while Ukrainian forces eliminated 156 invaders over the past day, the Ground Forces command reports.

Ukrainian forces also destroyed 30 armored vehicles.

Russian forces are more active along the entire line of defense. On Thursday, Ukrainian troops repelled five Russian attacks near Sinkivka, Petropavlivka and Bilohorivka. The enemy launched air strikes and used 15 kamikaze drones against defense forces.

Russian forces are currently regrouping and is not abandoning its intention to attack Kupyansk with more efforts with prevailing equipment.

"The weather is getting worse, so the use of equipment is somewhat more difficult. But their intentions are clear. We saw them preparing for an attack," the press release added.

Tensions in the Lyman-Kupiansk area escalated in the summer, when Russian troops intensified their attacks in an attempt to break through to the Oskil River.

This comes together with the offensive near Avdiivka and Bakhmut.

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian troops have recently resumed offensive operations near Kupiansk in Kharkiv region, but "degraded elements" of Russian forces operating in this area are likely to remain incapacitated.
