Serbian construction companies eager to participate in Ukraine’s recovery

Serbian construction companies have expressed their desire to participate in post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, says Minister of Transport Goran Vesić on Twitter.

Vesić noted that the Serbian construction and engineering industry has the engineering capacity, manpower, mechanisation, advice and experience to participate in the very complex projects that Ukraine will face after the war.

"Recently, in cooperation with partners from the United States, an initiative was put forward on the possible participation of Serbian construction companies in projects to rebuild Ukraine. In this regard, I organised a meeting with Serbian construction companies that have expressed a desire to participate in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine," he said.

The minister stressed that Serbia will continue to respect international law and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Previously, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that his country is not turning down the possibility of transferring weapons to intermediaries who can then send them to Ukraine to fight Russian forces.

Earlier, the US media reported, citing secret Pentagon documents, that Serbia had agreed or already sent weapons to Ukraine.

The Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that Serbia is ready to participate in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and support its EU integration by sharing its experience.

In July, the Serbian government decided to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine to overcome the consequences of the Russian bombing of the Kakhovka dam.
