Children from Zhytomyr region, who vacationed in Estonia with BGV fund support this summer, meet Tallinn mayor

On November 11, Tallinn Mayor Mihhail Kõlvart and his delegation visited Ukraine to meet 70 children of Ukrainian defenders from the Zhytomyr region. These children had the opportunity to spend their summer vacation in Estonia this year. 

As part of the meeting with Estonian partners, the children enjoyed a concert at the Zhytomyr Academic Regional Puppet Theater, received gifts, and chatted with the mayor of the Estonian capital.

As a gesture of gratitude, the young Ukrainians prepared gifts for the Estonian mayor, including embroidered shirts, drawings, and other creative works. Estonian partners, including Mayor Kõlvart, have consistently supported and assisted the Zhytomyr region since the start of the full-fledged invasion.

As a reminder, the BGV Charity Fund, in collaboration with the mayor and Tallinn City Council — the representative body of the Tallinn municipality — successfully executed a summer project for children's recreation in Estonia. The project was designed to support children of active servicemen and soldiers who lost their lives from various corners of the Zhytomyr region.

The first group of young Ukrainians enjoyed a relaxing stay in June at a summer camp in the cozy village of Tuksi, and the second group stayed at the Holstre-Polli Sports and Recreation Center near the city of Viljandi. All expenses during their stay abroad were covered by Estonian partners. The BGV Charity Fund organized the trip and fully funded the journey to Estonia and back.

The BGV Charity Fund's team genuinely hopes that this impactful and valuable project for children will be continued by Estonian partners in the coming year. This way, even more young Ukrainians can visit Estonia, soak in positive emotions, and make new friends.
