Solutions from Ukraine: Ukrainian Railways implements "barrier-free literacy" training for 10,000 rail staff serving clients with disabilities

The comfort of all passengers, regardless of their characteristics, should be a priority for Ukrainian Railways. That's why the company ("Ukrzaliznytsia") has implemented the 'Barrier-Free Literacy' training program for its employees.

The press service of "Ukrzaliznytsia" reported this.

As noted by the carrier, the program will help to understand the needs of people with disabilities and ensure the appropriate level of service.

"Ukrzaliznytsia" clarifies that, at this time, more than 10,000 of its employees have received the necessary knowledge.

"Among them are station workers and train crews. By the end of the year, we plan to train even more railway workers who work directly with customers," the message emphasized.

The carrier also added that the educational series was created within the framework of the first lady Olena Zelenska's "Without Barriers" initiative.

"Ukrzaliznytsia" announced the purchase of 100 passenger cars, including 20 compartment cars, which will be equipped with places for people with disabilities in wheelchairs.

In addition, the first driving schools for people with disabilities were opened in Ukraine.

In the Poltava region, in Reshetylivka, a sports and rehabilitation complex, "Kolos," was opened for people with disabilities.
