Russian troops strike civilian car with two-month-old baby near Kherson

On Monday, November 13, Russian forces shelled a civilian car carrying an infant on the outskirts of Kherson.

The vehicle caught fire, resulting in the death of the child's grandfather and leaving the mother in critical condition, Rubryka reports, citing a statement from the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko.

"At noon, Russians shelled a car, where a girl and her relatives were returning from a medical examination, with artillery," he said.

According to Klymenko, the car caught fire due to the attack.

"The 36-year-old mother is in critical condition in the hospital. The man who was driving died. This was likely the 64-year-old grandfather of the child. Experts will determine the identity, as the body was completely burned," said the minister.

The two-month-old baby was being transported to the Kherson hospital with a police escort. Preliminary reports indicate that the girl suffered a mine-explosive head injury.

"The condition is of medium severity. Doctors are providing necessary assistance and fighting for the life of her mother," said the minister.

Situation in Kherson and the region

Over the past day, the Russian forces conducted 53 shelling attacks on Kherson, firing 279 shells.

"Over the past day, the enemy conducted 53 shelling attacks, firing 279 shells from mortars, artillery, Grad rocket launching systems, tanks, grenade launchers, drones, and aviation. Russian military targeted residential quarters of populated areas in the region," said the chief of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, on Telegram.

According to Prokudin, due to Russian aggression, one person died, and another was injured.

On Sunday morning, November 12, the Russian occupying forces continued shelling Kherson; powerful explosions were heard. A local library was attacked.

Also, the Kherson city territorial community was shelled seven times in the past day, with the Russian forces using 33 shells.

The head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, posted photos of the consequences of Russian shelling on Facebook, stressing that the Russian army is killing and injuring citizens by entire families.
