Canada hosts conference on Ukraine post-war restoration

On 21-22 November, a business conference dedicated to the reconstruction of Ukraine will be held in Toronto, the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce reports.

The event will be organised by the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Business Council of Canada, the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada, the Ministry of Economic Development, and the Canadian Embassy.

"During the Business Conference "Rebuilding Ukraine", investment projects aimed at rebuilding and modernising Ukraine in the fields of agriculture, construction, infrastructure, energy and healthcare will be demonstrated," the statement said.

The conference will also lift up mechanisms of Canadian government support for investment in Ukraine, and success cases of Canadian companies operating in Ukraine.

On the second day of the conference, participants will be able to familiarise themselves with the Diia government app, and Ukrainian companies and organisations working in the fields of information, financial and military technologies.

The Canadian government has requested the parliament $362 million in military assistance to Ukraine.

Since January 2022, Canada has allocated more than $8.9 billion in comprehensive support to Ukraine, including $4.95 billion in direct financial support and more than $1.8 billion in military assistance.

The state provided Leopard 2 tanks, air defense systems, artillery for armoured vehicles and ammunition, and 200 Senator armored vehicles.

The Ukrainian military has already received a batch of the latest armoured vehicles.

Since Russia's occupation of Crimea in 2014, Canada has imposed sanctions on more than 2,600 individuals and legal entities.
