United to win: Finland develops plan for Ukraine's reconstruction
Finland's program for participation in the rebuilding of Ukraine will consist of two parts, the first of which will be prepared by the end of the year.
The Minister of Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, Wille Tavio, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
"Ukraine can count on our support in the future to overcome the enormous consequences of Russian aggression. Finland is preparing to participate in the reconstruction process and developing a national reconstruction plan cooperating with the private sector. The first part of the plan will be published by the end of this year. It will focus on how the Finnish private sector can participate in the recovery of Ukraine. The second part will be prepared shortly after that. It will look at Finnish support for Ukraine in a broader context, including development cooperation [Ukraine – ed.]," said Tavio.
The minister emphasized that Finnish companies have considerable experience, which is necessary to contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine.
"We can participate, for example, in energy-efficient and environmentally friendly construction, the energy sector, the transition to renewable energy sources, water and waste management, telecommunications, education, and the rule of law. I think these areas are perfect to meet the current needs in Ukraine," Tavio emphasized.
In this context, the Finnish government official noted that the international exhibition and conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine called "ReBuild Ukraine Powered by Energy," which will be held on November 14-15 in Warsaw, will be "a great opportunity for more than 40 Finnish companies to hold negotiations with Ukrainian partners and learn more about ways to participate in huge efforts [on the reconstruction of Ukraine – ed.]".
It is worth noting that the primary goal of the exhibition and conference "ReBuild Ukraine Powered by Energy" is:
- to attract international funding for the restoration of Ukrainian communities,
- to assist enterprises in the energy industry of Ukraine in the implementation of the restoration of critical infrastructure objects that were damaged as a result of military aggression,
- to attract investments in cities and regions of Ukraine, which today support millions of displaced families and have attractive investment opportunities.
During the event, there will be a unique exposition of construction technologies, equipment and materials, modern electrical equipment and "green" technologies, and global achievements in the construction and energy spheres, presented by the most powerful manufacturers from the 21st country of the world.
