Happy Paw fund raises over $26,000 to shelter stray animals during winter

EVA pharmacy and the Happy Paw animal charity foundation have launched the "Holidays with a Tail" project, where one can create their own virtual home and house all stray animals in shelters.

What is the problem?

"Winter is the most difficult time for stray animals, as many of them simply do not survive these cold and dark months. Shelters need to prepare hot food for animals and keep the premises where they are kept warm at all times. Given last year's power outages, we already have dozens of requests from shelters to buy firewood, stoves and bullion," commented Lyudmila Yenzheevskaya, manager of the Happy Paw Foundation for homeless animals.

Last year, the joint efforts helped to warm up almost 10,000 animals.

"For the fourth year in a row, during the winter holidays, EVA has been helping homeless animals by refusing to send New Year's gifts to its partners. In 2022, the Warm Tails initiative raised over $26,000 and helped about 10,000 animals from 41 shelters survive the difficult winter in warmth and comfort. More than 84,000 benefactors joined the project. We hope that this year the concern of thousands of people will warm the furry animals that do not yet have their own homes," commented Oleksandra Hnatyk, Head of PR at RUSH LLC (EVA and EVA.UA).

What is the solution?

The fundraising project runs from November 4 to December 31.

The final goal is to raise $26,000 to insulate animal shelters, including new comfortable dog kennels, firewood, heaters and stoves for cooking and heating. These funds will help to purchase the necessary goods to improve the lives of stray cats and dogs from more than 30 shelters across Ukraine.

Anyone can help achieve the fundraising goal by creating an online warm home for an animal on the project's website, as well as by making a transfer of 1 hryvnia or more at the checkout of any EVA pharmacy store.

How does it work?

The project's website https://teploeva.happypaw.ua/ is hosting an interactive collection for shelter insulation, where users can choose a pet they want to house, choose the style of the animal's house so that the pet can spend the winter in warmth and care, and add cosy elements to the house: firewood, food or a bed.

Each option helps animals from shelters to survive the winter in warmth, kindness and comfort.
