Ukraine’s “Army of Drones” project sends 900 more drones to the front line

As part of the "Army of Drones" project, hundreds of drones have been sent to the front, including well-known models and classified ones. 

A new batch of over 900 more drones has been dispatched to the front lines, Rubryka reports, citing Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.

"The batch already includes drones like Mavics, Vampires, and Avengers, which have proven themselves well on the front lines," Fedorov shared.

In addition to the known drones, some secret models with undisclosed features and advantages were also sent to the front.

"We're also sending hundreds of drones that we can't discuss now. However, the occupiers will feel the force of innovation," said the minister.

Fedorov noted that many of these drones are domestically produced in Ukraine.

"We continue systematically strengthening defenders with 'birds' from the Army of Drones state program," said the minister.

About the "Army of Drones" project

In July 2022, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the State Special Communications Service, announced the first fundraising campaign for the Army of Drones on the UNITED24 platform.

The initiative has been active for over a year. During this time, Ukraine has established mass production of drones, combat UAVs, and training for drone operators, representing the project's main accomplishments.

In one year, the United 24 fundraising platform has gathered $325 million. Within the project, Ukraine has trained 10,000 UAV operators.

According to Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, compared to the previous year, drone production and quantity in Ukraine have increased by more than 100 times.

He noted a real upsurge in drone production in Ukraine, partly due to the government streamlining procedures for developers, arms manufacturers, and military equipment producers.

The Ukrainian government, Cabinet of Ministers, allocated ₴40 billion this year to invest in Ukrainian drone producers.
