Mikhail Razvozhaev, the so-called governor of Sevastopol, claimed in the statement that the Russian air defense downed nine unmanned aerial vehicles.
Initially, an air raid alert was announced in Sevastopol after the explosions rocked the city.
Followers of the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported that the explosions triggered car alarms near Bakhchysarai. The authors of the channel admit that the explosions could have sounded near the Russian air and space forces base at the Belbek airfield.
The so-called "governor" of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, said that the anti-aircraft defense system had been activated in Sevastopol, allegedly shooting down five drones.
Razvozhaev later stated that debris from the allegedly downed drone fell on the roof of a private house in Andriivka.
The SHOT Telegram channel, citing subscribers, also reported that around 3:10 a.m., several loud explosions were heard near the city of Saky and Novofedorivka, where the military airfield is located.
At 5:07 a.m., the Russian defense ministry announced that the Russian air defense destroyed nine and intercepted eight drones over the Black Sea and the Crimean Peninsula.
What we know about explosions in Crimea
In July, the Ukrainian Security Service and the Navy conducted a special operation attacking the Kerch bridge.
As Andrii Yusov, Ukrainian Defense Intelligence spokesperson, previously said, the Kerch Bridge is a legitimate target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"This is not a bridge. It is an illegal structure that is used primarily for military purposes to transfer enemy forces and assets to the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory. Yes, it is definitely a legal target for the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces," Yusov said.
At the end of October, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a strategic Russian air defense system on the western coast of Crimea.
The information appeared in local Telegram channels that there was a hit at the shipbuilding plant in Kerch in the occupied Crimea.
The Department of Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the defeat of the Russian missile carrier "Askold" in the occupied Crimea, sharing the first photo of the consequences.
On November 1, the Russian occupiers announced a missile attack on the territory of the Crimean peninsula: eyewitnesses claim that there was an impact at the Russian bases in the area of the Arabat Spit.
