Solutions to win: Ukrainian army receives M1150 ABV assault vehicles

Ukraine's armed forces received M1150 ABV assault vehicles, becoming only the second operator of this military equipment in the world after the United States.

A video with equipment captured during President Volodymyr Zelensky's awarding of the military on the Day of Missile Troops and Artillery and the Day of Engineer Troops confirms that.

What is the problem?

"Every meter of liberated Ukrainian land comes at the cost of blood, and you should not expect rapid events during the counter-offensive. This is not a show," emphasized the commander-in-chief of Ukraine's armed forces.

Despite everything, the Ukrainian army is moving forward. The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, are entrenched at the achieved boundaries, and carry out counter-battery countermeasures.

However, mines are the biggest obstacle to a successful offensive by Ukraine's armed forces. Ukrainian defenders do not have enough special equipment to pass mini fields and storm Russian positions.

What is the solution?

According to the Defense Express portal, M1150 ABV assault vehicles could enter service with the Ukrainian army. Likely, they arrived together with the Abrams tanks, a batch of which was received by Ukraine no later than mid-October.

How does it work?

It should be noted that the United States did not officially announce the transfer of the M1150 ABV to the Ukrainian military. Still, President Volodymyr Zelensky showed a video of the equipment.

The main function of these machines is to create passages in minefields. At the same time, the M1150 ABV combines two systems for the elimination of enemy mines:

• The first system is a traditional plow that mechanically plows fields and defuses explosives;

• At the same time, a second system fires M58 MICLIC-type linear explosive charges that carry C4 explosives over a distance.

Thanks to this system, the M1150 ABV assault vehicles can create passages in minefields at a distance of up to 150 meters at a time.

Powerful armor allows you to use it as an assault tank to defeat protected enemy positions.
