United to win: Canada donates robotic demining complex to Mykolaiv pyrotechnicians
Recently, Mykolaiv pyrotechnicians received a new DIGITAL VANGUARD–S robotic complex, which was handed over for the needs of the State Emergency Service with the support of the Government of Canada.
The press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region reported this.
What is the problem?
The Mykolaiv region still remains one of the most mined regions of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 754,000 hectares, which is 30% of the entire region, have been potentially mined in the Mykolaiv region.

Such modern equipment is essential for the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service. Rescuers are making titanic efforts every day to demine all territories from the consequences of armed aggression by the Russian occupiers. The new equipment will help to speed up the work, as well as reduce the risk to the life and health of the pyrotechnicians themselves.

What is the solution?
This complex is intended for reconnaissance and remote disposal of ammunition. The main advantage of its use is the ability to perform tasks remotely, which significantly reduces the risks associated with the danger to the life and health of the pyrotechnician during the tasks of clearing the territory of explosive objects.

How does it work?
The robot has a wireless and wired connection, depending on the tasks. It can work without power for up to 5 hours. It is used when setting charges for remote destruction of explosive objects or reconnaissance of the area.

It has three installed cameras, thanks to which the operator can follow the manipulations and receive a clear and high-quality image of the work site in real-time. The robot is small in size and quite maneuverable, which allows for use in hard-to-reach places.
