Russian forces shell southern cities of Ochakiv and Kherson

On Thursday morning, November 2, the Russian forces opened artillery fire at the southern city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv region, causing a gas leak and damaging power lines in one of the local villages. 

Russian occupiers also shelled Kherson tonight. A 70-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized.

Rubryka reports the incidents, citing the statements by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, and the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Roman Mrochko.

Shelling of Mykolaiv region

The communities of the Mykolaiv region and the regional center — the city of Mykolaiv — are constantly under Russian fire. This morning, Russian troops shelled Ochakiv with artillery.

"Since 04:01, enemy artillery shelling was recorded in the water area and territory of the town of Ochakiv," Vitalii Kim reported.

The attack on the city damaged multi-story residential buildings, private houses, a power grid, and a gas pipeline.

"There was a gas leak, which was promptly stopped. There were no casualties," he added.

According to the head of the regions, at 5:00 a.m., the Russian shelling damaged a power grid in Lyman, Halytsynove community. "There are no casualties," Kim stated.

Night shelling of Kherson

Russian troops also shelled Kherson on Thursday night.

"A 70-year-old woman was injured by yesterday evening's Russian shelling of the Kherson city territorial community. She was in her house at the time of the enemy attack. The victim was hospitalized with an explosive injury and a shrapnel wound to the chest," says Roman Mrochko.

Roman Mrochko also reported that one person was killed and three others were injured in the Kherson territorial community yesterday due to Russian aggression. All the injured were provided medical assistance.

Background

The right-bank part of the Kherson region was liberated from the Russian occupier almost a year ago. After the escape, the Russian forces continued to bombard Kherson and the region with heavy weapons across the Dnipro River daily, dropping guided aerial bombs on the civilian population.

On October 31, Russian troops attacked an evacuation bus in the Kherson region with a drone, injuring two people.

A day earlier, Russian invaders fired at a shuttle bus in Kherson, injuring seven civilians.

Before that, the Russian forces shelled Novoberislav with artillery. A 46-year-old local was injured. At the time of the attack, the man was outside of his house.
