United to win: another group of Ukrainian soldiers start training on Patriot air defense system in Germany

On Monday, October 30, another cohort of soldiers from Ukraine's armed forces in Germany began training on how to operate Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems.

The press service of the German Air Force reported this.

"Our support for Ukraine continues. Another Patriot exercise begins today," the Luftwaffe said in a post.

61 Ukrainian military personnel and ten translators have been confirmed to participate in the training for several weeks.

It should be noted that the first group of Ukrainians trained on the Patriot air defense system in Germany back in February of 2023 – after the decision of the United States and Germany to transfer these systems to Ukraine.

Then Germany promised to hand over one Patriot air defense system battery to Ukraine. As of August, Kyiv received two launchers for air defense systems from Berlin.

Another Patriot air defense system is included in Germany's new "winter package" of military aid.

Germany is one of the leaders among the countries that assist our troops. In particular, Berlin provided several types of artillery, Leopard tanks of older and new modifications, IRIS-T and Patriot air defense systems, ammunition, cars, drones, and other weapons.

As previously reported by Rubryka, Ukraine expects an additional 1.4 billion euros from Germany in a new "winter package" of aid, which will include, in particular, the strengthening of air defense.

Also, during the negotiations in Berlin with the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, the head of the department, Svenja Schulze, assured that the German government would continue to support Ukraine in the protection of critical energy infrastructure and economic recovery.

Germany announced a new military aid package for Ukraine. It includes another IRIS-T SAM launcher, four armored personnel carriers, and other weapons.
