Powerful explosions rock occupied Crimea: Russian military facilities under attack in Sevastopol and Saki
On Monday, October 30, powerful explosions rocked occupied Crimea.
A series of blasts were recorded in the cities of Sevastopol and Saki. Locals of Novofedorivka said the impact in the area of the airfield, Rubryka reports, referring to the Telegram channel "Crimean Wind" and "Krym. Realii."
Explosions in Sevastopol
At least three explosions happened in occupied Sevastopol, "Crimean Wind" reports.
According to "Krym. Realii", a column of smoke can be seen above the Sevastopol shipyard plant after the explosions. The Russian occupiers in Crimea claimed air defense operations. Allegedly, the Russian army downed two aerial targets over Sevastopol.
"Debris fell on the territory of school No. 27 on the North side, on Pasichna street, and in Inkerman," said Russian-appointed governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.
Explosions in occupied Saki
In Saki, a series of explosions were heard, one after the other. "There have already been 3-4," the "Krymsky Veter" Telegram channel said.
There were also blasts in Novofedorivka. According to the same Telegram channel, there is likely an impact at the local airport.
"A fire truck rushed towards the airfield in Novofedorivka," the channel said.
Background
On Monday night, the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully struck a strategic Russian air defense system in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Before that, on the morning of October 30, Crimean Telegram channels and the public reported loud volleys in the area of occupied Sevastopol, as well as the closure of the bay due to explosions. The Crimean Bridge was also closed.
Natalia Humeniuk, the press center chief at the South operational command, reported on the air of the national telethon that the Ukrainian defense forces were conducting complex operations in Russian-occupied Crimea, the results of which would be revealed later.
"This work is complex, large, large-scale. There are a lot of them (Russians — ed.). We need a lot of effort and still a little time to wait for the results," Humeniuk said.
According to her, a very powerful maneuver of forces and means is taking place in Crimea now. The Russians are trying to create a military hub in Crimea, where they will store their resources in a certain degree of readiness.
On July 20, explosions rang out in the villages of Hvardiiske and Novofedorivka, where the occupiers' airfields are located.
