Near Avdiivka, Donetsk region, the Russian army endured some of the most devastating losses in 2023. It appears that the demands of the command once again do not align with the actual capabilities of the military.

This is stated in the intelligence report of the British Ministry of Defense as of October 28.

British experts note that the Russian "soldiers" harshly criticize the command tactics.

"The nature of the operation suggests that Russia's core military-political challenge remains the same as it has throughout most of the war.

Political leaders demand more territory to be seized, but the military cannot generate effective operational level offensive action," the intelligence states.

As British scouts noted, only in the Donetsk region near Avdiivka did the General Staff of the Russian troops engage units of up to 8 brigades.

"These elements have likely suffered some of Russia's highest casualty rates of 2023 so far," analysts say.

It should be noted that according to the words of the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, as of October 28, during the offensive on Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, the Russian invaders lost about 4,000 personnel.

The Estonian command believes that Russia seeks to gain at least a minimal initiative in Ukraine to create the impression of success in the war within the country.

"The armed forces of the Russian Federation, as in previous weeks, continued more intensive attacks in the direction of Avdiivka-Mariinka and Kupiansk-Lyman. Probably, the main task of the armed forces of the Russian Federation at the moment is to return the initiative and create at least some kind of success that can be presented to the public as a victory," said Kundla, head of the operations department of the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces.

Recently, the intelligence of Great Britain announced the total losses of the Russian Federation as dead and seriously wounded; they reached 190 thousand soldiers. There are also data taking into account the wounded who can return to the battlefield after recovery.

As Rubryka wrote, just last day, October 27, the Defense Forces eliminated more than 700 invaders, so the total losses of Russian troops since the beginning of the full-scale war in human resources amounted to almost 298 and a half thousand soldiers.
