The weather also disrupted power across a wide swathe of Ukraine, affecting more than 1,000 communities in 14 oblasts, Ukraine's Energy Ministry reported.

Wind gusts in Kyiv damaged Ukraine's largest flag, despite the fact that it had been lowered the day before to preserve its integrity.
The damaged remnants of the flagpole have now been removed, and a replacement flag has been prepared. The new flag will be raised as soon as the weather conditions improve.
