US to supply Ukraine with new $150 million military aid package

The US may announce a new $150 million military aid package for Ukraine on 25 October, Voice of America with reference to three American officials reports.

The new US military aid package may contain additional GMLRS missiles for the HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems, projectiles for NASAMS anti-aircraft systems, TOW anti-tank missiles, AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, and 155-mm artillery shells.

This package may become the 49th case of using presidential powers to redirect weapons from US stockpiles for the Ukrainian army.

The latest American military aid package worth $200 million was announced on October 11 at Ukraine's Defence Contact Group meeting (Ramstein format).

US security aid for Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion has reached about US$44 billion, but its future is uncertain due to the absence of a speaker of the Chamber of Representatives. Meanwhile, the Pentagon still has about US$5 billion for military aid for Ukraine approved by Congress due to a mistake in cost assessment of the equipment detected this summer.
