Russian troops shell Kherson region by night with incendiary weapons

On Tuesday night, October 24, Russian troops shelled the southern Kherson region with incendiary shells. 

The attack injured four civilians, including a child, Rubryka reports, citing the statement of the Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

"The Russian military does not stop terrorizing the coastal settlements,"  Klymenko said. "At midnight, the enemy carried out two airstrikes on the village of Zmiivka in the Berislav district. Within an hour, the Kherson district was shelled with incendiary ammunition."

In the village of Bilozerka, four people, including a child, were injured by Russian shelling. It also damaged 20 houses, a gas network, cars, and buildings.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, the 12-year-old boy has a traumatic injury to his foot and an acute reaction to stress. Also, a 50-year-old woman and two men have a neurotic reaction.

The Russian army carried out 101 rounds of shelling in the Kherson region during the past day.

"Over the past day, the enemy fired 101 shells, firing 597 shells from mortars, artillery, Grads, AGS, tanks, aviation, and UAVs at the towns of the Kherson region. The enemy fired 30 shells at the city of Kherson," Prokudin reported on Facebook.

According to Prokudin, the Russian military targeted residential quarters of the region, a critical infrastructure facility and plant in Beryslav, and the park's territory in Kherson.

Due to the Russian aggression, two people died, and 14 more were injured, including a child.

As Rubryka reported, 23 towns in the liberated Kherson region were recognized as ones needing mandatory evacuation of families with children.

Shelling of Kherson region

Russian soldiers regularly shell the Ukraine-controlled right-bank part of the Kherson region from the left bank, which has been under Russia occupation since February 2022. They use artillery and aviation for attacks, often killing civilians in the region.

As reported, the bodies of two civilians killed by Russian shelling of the village of Ivanivka in the evening of October 22 were recovered from the rubble in the Kherson region; the prosecutor's office has started proceedings.

On October 20, the Russians hit Berislav with an aerial bomb. One person died. Also, on the evening of October 16, five Russian fighter jets dropped aerial bombs on the Kherson region.
