Zelensky and Saudi crown prince discuss global Peace Summit preparation in recent call
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud, the development of cooperation between the countries and preparations for the Global Peace Summit.
The head of state announced this on the X social network.
"I had a telephone conversation with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, regarding ways of developing Ukraine's relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the countries of the Persian Gulf," he noted.
He added that he thanked the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia for his efforts to make the Peace Formula meeting in Jeddah a success.
The President invited the representative of Saudi Arabia to participate in the next round of negotiations in Malta and noted the importance of the Kingdom's role in preparing for the Global Peace Summit.
"We also discussed the situation in the Middle East. I emphasized the need to prevent further escalation of the conflict and casualties among the civilian population," Zelensky said.

As reported, on August 5-6, a second meeting was held in Jeddah at the national security advisers and political directors level regarding the critical principles of peace based on the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the results of the first day, namely on August 5, representatives of about 40 countries agreed that the basis of the future peace agreement would be the inviolability of Ukraine's borders.
It was also reported that Saudi Arabia is ready to continue its mediation efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
