Russian drones attack Ukraine by night: air defense downs all threats
On Monday night, October 23, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones, a guided missile, and an unmanned aerial vehicle of an unspecified type.
Air defense forces downed all aerial targets, Rubryka reports, referring to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Thanks to the successful combat work of anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, and Air Force jets, in cooperation with the Air Defense Forces, 13 Shahed-136/131 drones, one guided air missile Kh-59, and one attack UAV were neutralized.
The Russians launched the Shahed attack from the south (Cape Chauda, occupied Crimea) and directed them toward Ukraine's southern, eastern, and central regions. Air defense worked along the route of the attack anti-aircraft missiles.
The Kh-59 missile was fired from the Su-34 jet from the airspace of the occupied Zaporizhzhia region, and an unmanned aerial vehicle of an unknown type was launched from the northern border.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, over 90 combat clashes took place during the past 24 hours. The Russian forces launched ten rocket attacks and 63 air strikes and carried out 58 attacks from multiple rocket launchers on the Ukrainian positions and populated areas. Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, led to casualties among the civilian population. Multi-apartment and private residential buildings, as well as other civilian infrastructure, were destroyed and damaged.
Also, the Russian occupiers launched another air and missile strike, using the Kh-59 guided air missile and the S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile, four Shahed-136/131 UAVs, and one attack UAV unspecified type against civilian buildings in the city of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region.
