“Together we won’t let hatred destroy our freedom and terrorists ruin our democracy” – Zelensky comments on Biden’s speech

President Volodymyr Zelensky called the speech of the President of the United States, Joe Biden, very powerful, thanked for the help of the USA and assured that together, the countries will not allow freedom and democracy to be destroyed.

Zelensky wrote this on the X social network.

"I am grateful to Joseph Biden for his powerful speech. Together, we will not allow hatred to destroy freedom or let terrorists destroy democracy. Ukraine is grateful for all the U.S. support and its unfaltering belief that humanism, freedom, independence, and rules-based international order must always triumph," President Zelensky emphasized.

He noted that the common goal of Ukraine and the States is to protect a free way of life for "all our nations."

The head of state added that the countries that oppose aggression and terrorism count on America's leadership in preserving common freedom.

"The unwavering bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States is incredibly encouraging for all of our warriors and for our entire nation. America's investment in Ukraine's defense will ensure long-term security for all of Europe and the world," concluded Zelensky.

For reference:

US President Joe Biden said in an address to the American people that on October 20, he will send an "urgent budget request" to Congress to "fund America's national security needs to support our critical partners, including Israel and Ukraine."

"This smart investment will pay dividends in American security for generations. Help us keep American troops out of harm's way. Help us build a safer, more peaceful, prosperous world for our children and grandchildren," the American leader noted.

He called this historical moment a "tipping point" — a battle between the world's democracies and autocracies.

Biden compared this month's events in Israel with almost 20 months of war in Ukraine. The US president said supporting both Israel and Ukraine wars is "vital to America's national security."

Biden explained that military aid to Ukraine helps create jobs in America:

"Let me be clear about something. We are sending equipment to Ukraine that we have in our warehouses. And when we use the money provided by Congress, we replenish our stockpile with new equipment, weapons that protect America and are made in America."

He warned that US adversaries and competitors are "watching."

Biden spoke out against Islamophobia and anti-Semitism, which have recently intensified. He addressed those who were affected by this:

"I want to tell you this: You are all Americans."

The US president recalled his recent trip to Israel, where he met with Israeli officials and reaffirmed the country's support. He said that while there, he "saw people strong, determined, resilient, but also angry, in shock and deep, deep pain."

He also reiterated his promise to bring American hostages home to America, saying, "There is no higher priority for me than the safety of the American hostages."

In addition, Biden reiterated his support for the two-state solution, saying that "Israel and the Palestinians equally deserve to live in security, dignity and peace."

The US president tried to distinguish Hamas and the Palestinian people clearly. He said the militant group "does not represent the Palestinian people" and accused it of using Palestinians "as human shields." He said he was "heartbroken by the tragic loss of Palestinian lives" and added that the US "remains committed to the Palestinian people's right to dignity and self-determination."

It should be noted that on October 18, the mass media reported with reference to sources that Biden expects to receive $60 billion for Ukraine and help for Israel in the request for funding in the amount of $100 billion.
