Ukrainian hospitals receive over 40 power generators funded by World Bank

Ukrainian hospitals received over 42 high-capacity, purchased in cooperation with the World Bank, the Ministry of Health reports.

What is the problem?

Russian winter attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities may cause large-scale damage to the power grid, but the power industry is preparing to restore it as soon as possible, says Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's energy system will not collapse in winter, says state energy supplier. During this winter, there may be problems related to mass shelling, but the power system will not collapse and will work.

What is the problem?

Ukrainian hospitals received over 42 high-capacity, purchased in cooperation with the World Bank, the Ministry of Health reports.

How does it work?

The power generators were sent to 15 regions of Ukraine. They will power operating rooms, intensive care units, oxygen stations and other critical equipment, which is especially important in the context of constant shelling and attacks by the Russian army on Ukraine's energy system.

As part of a joint project of the Ministry of Health and the World Bank through the international organization Crown Agents, a total of 467 generators will be distributed to the regions.

Ukrainian energy facilities will have three levels of protection, and the construction of protective structures is planned to be completed by November, before the onset of cold weather.

On September 27, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine was forming a multi-level protection of energy facilities.
