Solutions to win: UNITED24 funds purchase of first armored ambulance for Ukraine
The first armored ambulance, purchased by "Medical Procurement of Ukraine" with funds collected within the framework of the UNITED24 initiative (worth 9,532,000 hryvnias), is already in Ukraine.
The press service of the Ministry of Health reported this.
What is the problem?
Evacuating wounded soldiers from the battlefield is the most complex and critical process. Armored ambulances are needed to deliver wounded fighters as soon as possible during the medical evacuation stage.

What is the solution?
Today, thanks to President Volodymyr Zelensky's fundraising initiative UNITED24, Ukraine received the first armored ambulance for evacuating the wounded.
"Thank you to everyone who supports us in a difficult time of a full-scale war. Your donations are important. They, without exaggeration, save the lives of Ukrainians. Armored ambulances will allow us to do this even more effectively, evacuating the wounded from the hottest points of the front. The number of such vehicles worldwide is very limited, so they had to be specially made to order," says Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.
How does it work?
A total of 13 ambulance vehicles were purchased. The cost of all is UAH 124 million.
The vehicles are designed for transporting injured individuals from the battlefield to the nearest medical center. Each car is armor-equipped and meets the ballistic standards of NATO, precisely STANAG 4569 Level II.

One of the transportation components includes car tires, which can be driven with low pressure. Thanks to a unique design, the car can travel at speeds ranging from 50 to 150 km, depending on the car's weight and the road's condition. In practice, in our reality, this means if a fragment punctures a tire, the ambulance will not stand in the middle of the field under fire. In addition, these cars are all-wheel drive – they can drive on field, war-torn roads.

The armored ambulance was custom-made in Canada. Once the rest of the cars in the group are finished, they will be sent to Ukraine.
