Solutions to win: Kyiv region has restored 13,000 war-affected houses

Kyiv region has restored over 13,000 houses damaged during the Russian occupation in 2022, head of the local military administration Ruslan Kravchenko reports.

What is the problem?

Settlements around Kyiv are one of the most war-affected regions. Over 27,000 houses were destroyed and damaged during the hostilities, including more than 24,000 residential buildings.

What is important is the speed of reconstruction and the approach to all stages of work, including the correct and efficient use of funds.

People have a demand for justice and effective fight against corruption. Effective recovery and building a democratic society is not just about speed. It is primarily about changing approaches at all stages of work. It is about the efficient use of funds and blocking any illegal schemes, Kravchenko emphasized.

Authorities took control of the restoration process by tracking every stage and showing reports on the recovery.

How does it work?

A commission has been set up to inspect the work at the facilities under reconstruction, which includes members of the Kyiv administration, law enforcement agencies, technical supervision, etc.

We will record all the issues on the ground and resolve them promptly. We have already checked the reconstruction of a kindergarten in Byshiv. Next in line are four apartment buildings in Bucha, he said.

Law enforcement agencies will conduct a full and objective review of tenders and procurement for reconstruction.

Kravchenko said the work on tender procurement will continue next week.

Kyiv authorities plans to hold nine tenders, related to the reconstruction of kindergartens, residential buildings, medical facilities, and schools. We invite everyone to participate.

Ukraine's restoration agency has announced the first tender to overhaul four houses in the village of Yahidne in the northern Chernihiv region. 

More than a hundred houses need to be rebuilt after the Russian forces destroyed the village almost completely in the month that the village was under their occupation.
