BGV Charity Fund supports displaced Ukrainians with food kits
Another humanitarian project of the BGV fund came to fruition in the Kyiv region. Our team sent another batch of aid — all-around food kits for internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have lost their homes due to war and now live in a modular town in the Hostomel community of the Bucha district.
Each of a hundred sets consists of basic daily food products: buckwheat, long-grain steamed rice, semolina, rolled oats, oat flakes, bulgur, raisins, pasta, table salt, waffle tubes with milk filling, sugar, and tea.
"We regularly send food packages to Ukrainians affected by war. From March 2022 to April 2023, this type of aid accounted for 28.9% of the fund's total expenses, which is ₴25.4 million," says Polina Aldoshyna, the fund's director.
As the war continues, the housing is being destroyed daily in hostilities and shelling. The number of IDPs is increasing: as of January 1, 2023, 4,867,106 Ukrainian citizens were officially registered as displaced. The vast majority of them need humanitarian aid with products and necessities.
Humanitarian aid is one of our fund's priority lines of work. As of April 2023 alone, we've helped 25 million families and 50,000 older people.
