Russia relocates Black Sea Fleet ships from Sevastopol to alternate ports

The command of the Russian Black Sea Fleet transfers vessels and boats from Sevastopol to other ports of the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesman for the Naval Forces of Ukraine's armed forces, stated this during a telethon.

"They [Russian forces – ed.] mostly deploy ships to other ports, except Sevastopol. This is Novorossiysk, where there is a fairly large naval base, Feodosia, and even Kerch," he said.

According to the spokesman of the Navy, there is also a version that the Russians plan to restore the Black Sea Fleet base in Abkhazia.

"However, this is only information that has not been confirmed yet. As for the dispersal, we confirm this fact," said Pletenchuk.

According to him, at the same time, the occupiers had problems with the "mooring front."

"There are not enough piers to deploy these units. And as a result, they sent some of them, which they are not so sorry for, back to Sevastopol. These are the Serna boats and several tugboats," the Navy spokesman said.

What prompted the reorganization of the Russian Federation's Black Sea Fleet? The most probable explanation is the persistent danger of Ukrainian missile strikes and naval drone attacks in the western part of the annexed peninsula.

For reference:

The Security Service of Ukraine and the Navy of Ukraine reported the attack of the enemy cruise missile carrier "Buyan" and the ship "Pavel Derzhavin" in Crimea. Drones with experimental weapons were used for this.

Thus, on September 13, thanks to the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the landing ship "Minsk" and the Russian submarine "Rostov-on-Don" were captured.

In addition, on September 3, the Navy informed that Ukrainian naval aviation destroyed a Russian boat of the "Tuna" type in the northwestern part of the Black Sea and released the corresponding video.

Also, at the beginning of August, the Security Service conducted a special operation in Novorossiysk Bay, where a surface drone damaged the sizeable amphibious ship "Olenegorsky Gorniak."

On the night of August 5, representatives of the Ukrainian Security Service conducted an operation to blow up a large Russian oil tanker SIG, which was transporting fuel for the Russian invaders.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the war, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 18 Russian ships and boats, including the flagship cruiser "Moskva."
