Ukraine's Security Service (SSU) detained the director of a plant in Dnipro for supplying equipment to Russia for the construction of military bases.

The detainee faces up to 12 years in prison, the press release says.

During Russia's first year of the full-scale war, the suspects illegally exported several batches of arms components worth over $50,000 to the enemy state.

The director of the Dnipro facility and his allies were involved in organizing the illegal activity. After the all-out war unraveled, they remotely contacted their customers from Russia and jointly developed a mechanism for the illegal export of sanctioned products.

To implement the deal, they engaged several companies in the Middle East under their leadership, which ostensibly purchased the goods from the Dnipro plant for their own needs.

The suspects entered false information in the reporting and financial and economic documentation to disguise the fraud.

Russian customers used this scheme to equip military bases and deployment points of occupation groups all over the state and occupied territories, the press release said.

During the searches, the law enforcement officers found computers, cell phones, accounting documents, and draft records confirming illegal activities.

The investigation is ongoing to establish the crime's circumstances and bring the perpetrators to justice. The offenders face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The SSU seized all corporate rights and bank accounts of the Dnipro-based company supplying sanctioned goods to Russia.
