Russian drones attack ports and residential areas in Ukraine's south

The Russian forces launched a night drone attack on the southern Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
The drones damaged warehouse buildings in the port area and private houses, Rubryka reports, citing the statements of the South Operational Command and the Odesa and Mykolaiv authorities.
In the Odesa region, the night attack was again aimed at the port infrastructure of the Danube River.
"Trying to bypass the air defense systems, the kamikaze drones headed from different directions, using complex trajectories and features of the landscape," the South Operational Command reported.
According to the military, the Ukrainian air defense downed four Shahed-131/136 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the Mykolaiv region and ten drones in the Odesa region.
Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported on the Telegram messaging app that damage to port infrastructure and residential buildings was recorded in the Izmail district. The strikes caused fires that have already been promptly extinguished.
"One person was injured. The woman, born in 1935, received thermal burns. Now she is in the hospital and receiving all the necessary medical assistance," Kiper said.
The Russian drones also struck the city of Ochakiv and the water area of the Kutsuruby community, the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration. Drones downed by the air defense ignited the dry grass in the open area, leading to no casualties.
Besides the drones, the Russian army also used artillery to shell the water area of the Kutsuruby community. On late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, the Russians hit Ochakiv with anti-aircraft guns.
Overall, the air defense forces downed 28 of the 33 Shahed drones over Ukraine. Tonight's attack continues a series of drone strikes targeting critical and civilian infrastructure in the Ukrainian territory.
The previous massive attack happened on Tuesday night. The Russian forces attacked Odesa with Shahed kamikaze drones. Air defense downed 23 UAVs over the region, but there were still impacts on the logistics infrastructure.
