Ukrainian forces repel 18 Russian assaults on Avdiivka, engaging in 72 combat clashes all over the fronline – AFU General Staff
Russian forces intensified attacks on the eastern frontline, especially near Avdiivka, engaging aviation and mass waves of tank equipment, according to the latest AFU General Staff report.
Ukrainian troops have repelled ten attacks near the town and another eight near Stepove and Severne in the Donetsk region over the last day, with a total of 72 combat engagements taking place on the frontline.
The enemy launched one missile and 36 air strikes, fired over 35 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and localities. Unfortunately, the missile attack on a gymnasium in Nikopol killed four civilians. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged, the press release said.
Russian forces have covered residential areas of Avdiivka with dense fire, killing one and injuring two other civilians.
Ukraine's General Staff report from 10 October indicated that Russian troops had intensified their offensive on the Avdiivka front with up to three battalions supported by tanks and armored vehicles.
