Ukraine seizes $470 mln worth assets of three Putin's oligarchs
Based on the evidence provided by Ukraine's Security Service, the court has imposed an arrest on all corporate rights belonging to sanctioned Russian oligarchs Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven, and Andrei Kostin.
They are known to be part of Putin's inner circle and are involved in schemes related to financing armed aggression, the press service says.
The court decision concerns 20 companies and financial institutions owned by Kremlin oligarchs as ultimate beneficiaries or through controlled offshore companies. The value of the seized corporate rights is nearly $470 million.
The blocked assets include financial and insurance companies, mobile and IT entities, and mineral water plants.
The seizure of this property will not allow the Russian owners to "re-register" it to front companies to avoid further transfer of assets to Ukraine.
In early September of this year, SSU investigators noted the suspect Friedman and his business partners are currently outside Ukraine. Comprehensive measures are underway to establish all the circumstances of their subversive activities in order to bring the perpetrators to justice.
