Russian forces attack Kherson and Kryvyi Rih with artillery and ballistic missiles
On Wednesday night and morning, the Russian forces shelled Ukraine's southern city of Kherson and launched a ballistic missile attack at the central city of Kryvyi Rih.
The Russians shelled the city of Kherson and the nearby village of Prydniprovske from the Russian-occupied left bank of the region, causing a fire at a garage and damaging a school, Rubryka reports, citing the statement of the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Roman Mrochko
During the past day, Russian troops shelled the towns of the Kherson community 27 times with 141 projectiles, striking Antonivka, Kherson, Sadove, and Inzhenerne. The Russian shelling killed one civilian; 10 more were injured.
In the morning, the Air Force warned of a missile threat in the Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. A little later, residents of Kryvyi Rih were called to take cover.
A few explosions rocked the city. The head of the Kryvyi Rih City Military Administration, Oleksandr Vilkul, forewarned the residents not to film or post explosions on the Internet.
"Be careful, there are still high-speed missiles moving towards us," Vilkul said.
Later, Vilkul reported that the explosion did not happen "in the city or the district."
The front-line city of Kherson has been shelled and bombed daily by the Russian forces since the city was liberated by the Ukrainian forces in November last year after a nine-month-long Russian occupation. Just yesterday, the Russian troops bombed Kherson, destroying seven civilian homes.
Kryvyi Rih, President Zelensky's hometown, has also been regularly attacked by the Russians. On September 26, the ballistic missile struck one of the city's enterprises.
Another missile destroyed the police department and the office of the Oleksandr Vilkul Foundation. One person was killed, and 60 were injured.
