Russia launches drone attacks on Ukraine's center and south
On Tuesday night of October 3, the Russian forces attacked Ukraine's center and south — Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.
Rubryka reports, citing the statements by the local authorities — the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, and the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim.
An air raid warning was announced at night in southeastern Ukraine. The Air Force warned of a Russian attack with drones and ballistic missiles.
Dnipropetrovsk Governor Lysak reported that the local air defense forces downed 13 drones and one cruise missile launched by the Russians.
Falling debris caused the fire at a private enterprise, a garage, and a car in the city of Dnipro. Firefighters quickly extinguished the conflagration.
Debris from the downed drone also fell on the territory of an industrial enterprise in Pavlohrad, causing a fire and destruction of production facilities.
The Russians also shelled the Myrivka community of the Nikopol district in the region's south with heavy artillery.
"The aggressor and terror of Nikopol continued," Lysak added. "[Russians] targeted the Mirivka community with heavy artillery. Two private houses and an outbuilding were damaged."
Air defense forces also downed 17 Russian kamikaze drones over the southern Odesa and Mykolaiv regions while repelling another Russian air attack.
The head of the Mykolaiv region, Vitalii Kim, reported that 16 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs were destroyed by air defense forces over the region.
Another Iranian-made strike drone was eliminated by one of the Navy in the sky over the Odesa region.
"During the night attack of the occupiers, the forces and means of the Naval Forces shot down a SHAHED-136 kamikaze drone," the military said.
The Russian forces carried out the second airstrike on the territory of Ukraine this week. On Monday, October 2, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones and guided aerial bombs; four drones were downed, but there were also impacts.
