Ukrainian civilians will also be able to undergo rehabilitation in the center, Rubyka reports, citing the statement of the Rivne Regional Military Administration.
What is the problem?
During hostilities and Russian bombings, Ukrainian soldiers and civilians daily sustain significant injuries, which, unfortunately, lead to disability, loss of health, and work capacity. These people now need the most attention, care, and help.
Treatment, various types of rehabilitation, restoration, or compensation of lost bodily functions become important aspects of their life after an injury.
Medical rehabilitation is the first stage in recovery and a person's return to a full life.
What is the solution?
A rehabilitation center was opened at the Yurii Semeniuk Regional Clinical Hospital. The center was created by reorganizing the center of neurology and rehabilitation of the hospital.
The institution underwent a major renovation, placing 20 new beds and needed equipment. The center's equipment includes a medical treadmill, motomeds, Swedish walls, a verticalizer, stairs for learning to walk, and gymnastic couches.
How does it work?
The regional rehabilitation center was opened with the support of the WHO, the health ministry, the regional administration and council, and the hospital team. "This is a landmark event for the Rivne region," said the head of the Rivne administration, Vitalii Koval.
"We are building a comprehensive rehabilitation system in the region. The backbone of this system is the Klevan Hospital, where we begin building a new brain surgical complex this year. This center will have effective branches throughout the region," he added.
Services at the center will be free. To make it possible, the regional hospital concluded contracts with the National Health Service of Ukraine under two packages of medical guarantees for inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation assistance.
The government will pay for hospital services for adults and children. Three multidisciplinary teams will work at the center to provide rehabilitation services.
Rubryka reported that another Recovery rehabilitation center for soldiers has opened in Lviv. The facility has already become the seventh within the project, the press service of the network reported.
The new center is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment using international standards and is arranged under the requirements of accessibility — spacious corridors and sanitary and hygienic areas for patients with reduced mobility.
Also, an unusual rehabilitation site has opened in Kyiv. This pilot project is designed to rehabilitate people with leg injuries or amputations.
Rubryka also reported that the Donbas-Prykarpattia rehabilitation center was officially opened in Ivano-Frankivsk.
