Ukraine’s energy system will not collapse in winter — state energy supplier

During this winter, there may be problems related to mass shelling, but the power system will not collapse and will work.

This is reported by Rubryka, referring to the statement of Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the head of Ukraine's state energy supplier, Ukrenergo, during the telethon.

As Kudrytskyi noted, preparations for the heating season are now being completed.

"If we talk about the Ukrenergo network, we are already ready to transport winter volumes of electricity today. Currently, there are no restrictions either on the network or on electricity production," he said.

According to him, an intensive campaign to repair the generation is currently underway. One of the main lessons of winter 2022 is that in Ukraine, the engineering protection of all types of power facilities at the trunk level was significantly strengthened.

"Also, we have good experience in countering massive attacks and know how to hold the system. Our heroic air defense forces also demonstrate very high results," Kudrytskyi said.

In addition, he added that Ukrainian citizens have the experience of last winter behind them, and it is unlikely that the enemy can surprise them with anything.

"Therefore, I think that we will definitely get through the winter. There may be difficulties related to shelling, but the power system will not collapse. The power system will work. We will manage," Kudrytskyi said.
