Russia implements military censorship and curfew in occupied Donetsk region

The Russian invaders imposed several bans in the part of Donetsk that they occupied, such as military censorship and restrictions on gatherings.

The so-called Donetsk People's Republic leader, Denys Pushylin, issued an appropriate decree.

"Introduce military censorship of mail and messages transmitted using telecommunication systems and control of telephone conversations.

A ban on gatherings, rallies, demonstrations, marches, pickets, and other mass events is introduced […]

[…] as well as a ban on strikes and other methods of stopping or terminating the activities of organizations," the decree states.

In addition, a curfew was introduced in the occupied part of the Donetsk region from Monday to Friday from 23:00 to 04:00.

The so-called "officials" and "budget officials" were forbidden to leave anywhere except Russia without permission.

For reference:

On September 10, Russia held "elections" nationwide, including by-elections for State Duma deputies and elections for regional leaders and legislative representatives. The Kremlin also organized a fake voting process in the occupied areas of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the illegal elections held by Russia in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine would not have any legal consequences and would not lead to a change in the status of the Ukrainian territories captured by the Russian army.

The European Union also strongly condemned the holding of illegitimate so-called "elections" in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as in some captured parts of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions of Ukraine.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Washington will never recognize the results of these fake elections.
