EU allocates €1.5 bln to Ukraine in its eighth aid tranche
Ukraine's PM Denys Shmyhal says EU allies allocated €1.5 billion tranche to the state for civilian support.
The whole amount of EU aid in funds amounts to €13.5 billion in 2023, he said on X (Twitter).
Ukraine today received the eighth tranche of €1.5bln macro-financial assistance from 🇪🇺.

Shmyhal summarized that the total support for Ukraine has amounted to €70 billion since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war.
The EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen assured all funds will help Ukraine maintain hospitals, schools, and other services. The new batch will also help Ukraine on its way to the EU by supporting transformational reforms.
Today we disbursed another €1.5 billion to Ukraine.

This is the eighth tranche under the EU's large-scale macro-financial assistance (MFA) program. Ukraine has already received more than half of the planned €18 billion loan.
This EU tranche like the previous ones, will be used to finance priority state budget expenditures, including social and humanitarian.
On December 10, 2022, the EU Council agreed to provide Ukraine with €18 billion in aid through 2023.
On October 21, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that Ukraine would receive €9 billion in macro-financial assistance from the EU by the end of the year.
Soon-to-be disbursements of €1.5 billion per month to Ukraine will continue from March and will be subject to satisfactory progress in meeting agreed conditions and continued compliance with reporting requirements.
On July 25, the EU allocated another €1.5 billion in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine.
