Ukraine, Estonia and Luxembourg partner to create an IT coalition

During the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) on September 19, the defense ministers of Ukraine, Estonia, and Luxembourg held a kick-off meeting of the new coalition within the Ramstein format.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this, Rubryka writes.

A total of 20 countries took part in the launch event. Belgium, Denmark, Lithuania, and Latvia have already joined the initiative, signing a Declaration of Intent along with Ukraine, Estonia, and Luxembourg.

"The task of the IT coalition is to provide a secure and stable IT infrastructure for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Defense Forces, which will allow Ukraine to be more effective on the battlefield. We are grateful to Estonia and Luxembourg for their leadership in promoting this initiative. I would also like to thank Belgium, Denmark, Lithuania, and Latvia for joining our efforts, as well as the Minister of Defense of Luxembourg for announcing the first contribution to the IT coalition," said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov.

The intention to launch this initiative was first announced during the UDCG meeting on June 15. The IT Coalition is a special group of donor countries led by Estonia and Luxembourg within the framework of the UDCG, which focuses on providing support to the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the field of IT, communications, and cyber security.

A key outcome of the IT coalition is the creation of a single digital combat management and defense resource management ecosystem for the Defense Forces, which will ensure better coordination and more effective deployment of the Defense Forces and the use of capabilities provided by partner nations.
