UNICEF funds restore war-affected Irpin school in Kyiv region

Irpin Lyceum No. 3, rebuilt at the expense of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and other sponsors after extensive damage caused by Russian shelling, was reopened in the war-battered Kyiv region.

What is the problem?

During the occupation of Irpin, Russian occupiers damaged 10,500 buildings, of which 2,501 were completely or severely destroyed, which is 48% of the total housing stock of Irpin.

Almost all schools in Irpin were destroyed during the Russian army's offensive. Lyceum No. 3 was the largest educational institution in Irpin.

The facility suffered the greatest destruction among all educational institutions in the city, suffering 75% of the damage.

What is the solution?

UNICEF funds helped to restore Lyceum No. 3, which was opened in the city of Irpin, Kyiv region.

How does it work?

Now it is a modern educational institution with a barrier-free space. The institution is ready to welcome students, authorities said.

The renewed school expects around 1,500 students to join classes.
