Ukraine’s air defense repels another Russian missile attack, downing six targets

Russian forces again attacked Ukraine's infrastructure in various regions with drones and missiles on the night of September 17.

Ukrainian air defenses repelled another storm of targets, mostly aimed at southern regions to disrupt agricultural infrastructure.

The Air Force reported 16 Russian targets, including six Iranian-made Shahed drones and ten cruise missiles from Tu-95 deployed in the Engels airfield, which was previously attacked by Ukrainian UAVs.

Southern Odesa was the priority target for Russian forces this time, however, the missiles again moved chaotically all over the country, changing their direction and trying to confuse the air defenses.

Ukrainian troops used fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, mobile fire groups, and other units to repel this night's attack.

The air defense destroyed 12 targets, including all drones and six Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles. Some enemy missiles hit the territory of a civilian agricultural enterprise in the Odesa region.

On the night of September 15, Russian troops attempted to attack the western Khmelnytskyi region, looking for Ukrainian bombers carrying long-range Storm Shadow missiles. They launched 17 kamikaze drones in this direction. Ukraine's air defense forces shot down all the aerial targets.
